Friends and Chinese and Waffle

Hey everyone. I'm Tim.

How's your Easter holiday treating you? Hope everything is going well and fun (・∀・)
So yeah it's Saturday. I guess some of my readers here are still drinking at a pub or nightclub LOL I just got back from Chinatown at Leicester Square 'cause my friends from previous college came down to London from Southampton and Kent so I decided to have dinner together.

I had Cantonese food in Chinatown then had desserts (waffles with 2 ice creams and Belgium chocolate sauce!!) afterwards near Leicester Square. I hadn't seen them for AGES so we couldn't have stopped talking LOL Probably I should apologies people at the restaurant and streets as I'm sure it was so LOUD! LOL It is always good to hang out with my friends, but especially from my previous college. They remind me of my life at the college and everything.

I had a lot of fun today, so probably it is the time to think of and start my assignment (ew). Well, I know I'm on a holiday but I have a load of works for uni. 2,500words essay, here I come!

Public Relations?

Hey everyone :) I'm Tim.

What is Public Relations? ( ゚д゚)
My best mate always says to me, 'PR? hmmmm... Advertising right?' (・ε・)

The answer is - NO!!

Advertising and PR are totally different!!
There are so many differences between them so I'm not gonna explain all here. Basically, when you ADVERTISE something, it is always paid for. A good example is like, you have to pay for the space when you advertise something on magazine or news papers etc. Whereas PR is not paid for. PR doesn't necessarily need any space, like word-of-mouth for instance. That's the most obvious difference between PR and advertising. huh? Wanna know more? GOOGLE IT LOL

So what do we do in uni anyways?

Oh well, we STUDY a lot lol A lot of necessary things for PR career. What I've done in the last semester and this semester are;

  1. Press Releases - How to write a good press release which may get good coverage
  2. Presentations - How to do a good presentation and deal with questions
  3. Press Conference - How to set up press conference and work as a team
  4. Essays - How to do research and write academically
Obviously these are just a piece of my work, but you can see what I've been doing roughly right?

We have a guest lecturer almost every week for PR module. Last week, we had a guest from Don't Panic - a unique free publication, for digital PR module. He was talking about Heavy Rain, latest PS3 game and its launch (which I was so excited to hear lol), and his company's current work. It's good to learn from real PR people, 'cause you can clearly see what they are doing and what your gonna be meant to do in the future.

The biggest advantage of having a guest as a lecturer is, we can have a connection. You may get a work experience at some guest lecturer's company. Unfortunately I haven't heard someone got a job in that way yet, but guest lecturers are always helpful so you may get a chance :)

Oh you wanna know more about the course? I''m way too tired so next time LOL

First post :)

Hey everyone. I'm Tim.
Finally I stated blogging here. Woop woop ヽ( ゚д゚ )ノ

I will be writing anything I'm interested in, but more based on my life in London and uni life. Lemme tell you something. MY LIFE IS A DRAMA! LOL I'm telling you, Japanese don't lie (゚ω゚)

So, my memorable first post on this blog would be about myself as I assume some of you don't really know me.

Everyone calls me Tim, it's not my real name though (easier to remember and call right? lol). I'm 23 years old, although I do NOT look as old as my age lol I'm originally from Osaka, Japan. I've been in the UK for 3 years. I've finished A-level degree at one of international colleges in Cambridge, called Bellerbys College. Now I'm studying PR - Public Relations and Chinese as an extra module at University of Westminster in London.

I like what you like doing - like listening to music, watching films, boozing and partying, playing games etc... I had played rugby for 12 years since I was 7, I stopped playing when I graduated my high school in Japan though.

Erm... I have never set up a blog before, so it's quite hard for me to think of what to write here lol That is pretty much about me. You can just comment anything on the post if you have anything to say :) Also, if you have Twitter account, please follow me. My account is - tatsu_is

So... yeah this probably is the end of my first post. I will try to update the blog frequently so just check it out sometimes :)

See ya xx
